I took the boys to the Montgomery Zoo again today. We have a zoo membership, so we go pretty often. I really like the zoo here because it has nice animal enclosures, isn't too big (can see it all pretty quickly), and it has a nice playground and a TRAIN! I wanted to post the pictures from today because we saw several of the animals pretty close-up, including the tiger, who is usually hiding in the shade. There are two tigers in the exhibit. One was walking around near the waterfall on the far side of the area. The other was walking along the fence near the pathway and coming right up to the glass-walled viewing area. I tried to get a good picture of him to show how big he really was. After a while, he came over and stood near the glass, staring straight at Daniel. It was a little unnerving, as though he was checking out his potential dinner, but also really neat. He stood there for a minute or so, long enough for me to snap a view pictures and get a little video clip. Then he turned and started walking around again. We also got to see the rhinoceros in his water pit. He is usually napping outside the water and Daniel always wants him to get in the water, so Daniel was excited to see him in there! We also watched the little baby monkey play. I'm not sure what type of monkey it is... There are several adults, several "teenage" and the one little baby. At first, he was mostly being held and carried around, but now he is playing and climbing all over the place. It is so fun to watch them play! We also fed the giraffes today. There is a baby and the mommy is named Melissa! It was a great day at the zoo - enjoy the pictures!
