Daniel's One Year Check Up

Daniel had his one year doctor's visit today. He weighed in a 21 lb 8 oz and is 29 inches long. He is getting so big! It is hard to believe how much they grow and learn in the first year of life. I'm sure I will continue to be amazed in the years to come!

He is working really hard on walking these days. He love to walk around holding onto your fingers and has recently started walking around holding onto the furniture. He is really starting to get into EVERYTHING! In this picture he put his toy inside the candy dish. Cute!

Spouses Dining In

Today was the Annual Spouses Dining In for our base. The overall theme was The Eifel Emmys and each group choose a TV show for their table and costume theme. Our squadron was Wheel of Fortune. We made a spinning wheel for our table and dressed as the letter board. We also had to make a cake for our theme. A fun time was had by all!

Daniel Crawls Under the Dog

I just looked up and there he was, crawling back and forth under the dog. He must have done it 10 times. I just laughed and grabbed the camera. Enjoy!

Daniel Points At What He Wants!

Today we attended the Volunteer Recognition Ceremony held on base. The ceremony was an ice cream social, with cake and ice cream. I had been feeding Daniel cake and M&Ms from a plate. After a few minutes of not giving him a bite, he pointed at the plate and made noise. It was the first time he pointed at something that he wanted! Yeah Daniel!

Aggie Muster

Tonight we celebrated Aggie Muster with a group of Aggies in the area. We had dinner and a small ceremony at a local German restaurant. It was great to share the time with fellow Aggies. Click here to see the rest of the pictures!

Congratulations to Allan!

Allan was recently selected for promotion to Major. We aren't exactly sure when he will put on his promotion, but sometime during 2010. There was a promotion party for all the selectees and they made them wear cute little new ranks - love the pic!

Daniel Learns About Stairs

Daniel crawled up and down one small step today. Yeah! It was a place where there is only one small step, so it was a great place for him to experiment. He was very cautious about going down at first, but then he did it a couple of times.

Here is a cute little video I got of Daniel on the web cam with Mimi & GrandDad. Daniel pulled up to the TV area and was looking at them and waving. Too cute!

Easter

Since we had already been to an Easter Egg Hunt this month, we didn't do too much for Easter. Daniel played with his eggs and Easter basket in the morning. Later that day we went for a bike ride along the Mosel river. It was a beautiful day and we had a nice time.

Fun at the Park

Today we visited the park on base and had a little fun. Daniel loves to go down the slide! They have a little one that is enclosed that he can go down on his own - you just need someone at the top and bottom! The first couple of times he fell back, but then he got better about staying upright.

Spring is Finally Here!!!

It seems the spring has finally come here in Germany and winter is fading away! Yeah! The weather has been really beautiful since we got back from Texas and everything is in bloom. Here are a couple of shots I got with my new camera of some flowers in our village. Beautiful!

Daniel's First Birthday

Today Daniel turned one year old! I can't believe it has been a whole year since he was born! To celebrate we had some friends over for burgers and Mommy made a giant cupcake cake! Easter Egg Hunt

Our squadron spouses group organized an Easter Egg Hunt for all the kids. The kids colored, hunted for eggs, decorated and ate cupcakes and got pictures with the Easter Bunny. It was a great time for all. Daniel "found" a few eggs and put them in his basket. Mom had to help out a little bit. He was not at all happy about sitting on the Easter Bunny's lap - it was past his naptime! Click here to see all the pictures!

In and Out

Up until now, Daniel has mostly been interested in taking toys OUT of their containers. But today he learned about putting toys INTO a container. Here is a cute video clip of Daniel moving toys from one bowl to another.
